Giro del Lussemburgo 2019, stoccata di Herrada!

Jesus Herrada fa il vuoto nella terza tappa del Giro del Lussemburgo 2019. Il corridore spagnolo ha piazzato a sua progressione a poco meno di due chilometri dall’arrivo, nel finale in salita sull’Herrenberg, riuscendo poi a resistere al ritorno di Maurits Lammertink (Roompot-Charles) e Anthony Turgis (Total Direct Energie). Per lui arriva anche la maglia di leader, con il compagno di squadra Christophe Laporte che si è lasciato sfilare appena si è scatenata la bagarre. Nono posto per Luca Wackermann (Bardiani-CSF) e decimo per Andrea Pasqualon (Wanty-Gobert).

La corsa è caratterizzata dall’attacco di Alessandro Tonelli (Bardiani-CSF), Mauro Finetto (Delko Marseille), Robin Carpenter e Dries De Bondt (Corendon-Circus). Perso per strada Carpenter, i tre proseguono con un buon accordo fino a quando nel gruppo si scatena la bagarre, venendo ripresi a 20 chilometri dall’arrivo. Con i vari attacchi si crea un drappello di 25 corridori, con la maglia gialla Christophe Laporte (Cofidis) che perde contatto, che arriverà poi a giocarsi la tappa.

Appena cominciato lo strappo finale, Herrada non ci ha pensato due volte e ha accelerato, lasciando sul posto Luca Wackermann (Bardiani-CSF), che aveva inizialmente provato a seguirlo. All’inseguimento dello spagnolo si lanciano quindi Turgis e Lammertink, ma ormai è troppo tardi, perché Herrada si prende tappa e maglia.
