Un joli pactole pour Roberto Heras
L’ancien quadruple vainqueur du Tour d’Espagne Roberto Heras touchera prochainement 725.000 euros de dommages et intérêts, suite à une décision de la haute Cour de Justice de Barcelone. L’Espagnol avait été contrôlé positif à l’EPO lors d’un ré-examen, en 2011, des échantillons du Tour d’Espagne 2005 et suspendu deux ans par la fédération cycliste espagnole, qui lui a également retiré sa victoire à la Vuelta.
La justice espagnole avait déclaré en 2012 que les conditions de conservation des échantillons à l’origine de l’analyse positive n’avaient pas été conformes. Le contrôle avait alors été déclaré négatif et sa victoire rendue au Tour d’Espagne (sa 4e dès lors).
Roberto Heras, 43 ans, avait réclamé un million d’euros de dommages et intérêts. La cour lui en a octroyé 735.000 euros, soit la moitié de son salaire lors de sa dernière année en activité.
