Volta a Catalunya 2018, Hodeg: “All the sacrifices that I’ve been doing are offering their benefits”

Alvaro Hodeg is one of the most performing riders of the moment. The Colombian sprinter won the 2018 Handzame Classic last week and today took the most important success in his brief career. Quick Step Floors rider confessed to feeling enthusiastic: “I’m very happy for this victory. Quick Step Floors is like a family and I’m proud for my first World Tour win – began the youngster – I was focused on this race and I knew taking the success in a World Tour race is difficult but in the end we’ve achieved what I came for. We knew the last climb was a little bit hard but my team waited for me and brought me in the front”.

Hodeg keeps a low profile and celebrates today’s success without targeting to keep the leader’s jersey on his shoulders at the end of tomorrow’s stage: “Our goal was to get the sprint and I’m not tlooking forward to hold the overall jersey unless I succeed in sprinting for the victory also tomorrow. All the sacrifices I’ve been doing in the past years are now offering their benefits and the victories I achieved in the last week look incredible to me”, concludes Hodeg enthusiastically.
