Tirreno-Adriatico 2018, Kittel: “I’ve been waiting such a long time for this victory!”
Marcel Kittel finally returns to victory at Tirreno-Adriatico 2018 stage 2. The German sprinter took the sprint over World Champion Peter Sagan and Giacomo Nizzolo (Trek-Segafredo) so getting his first seasonal success. Kittel failed to take the victory both thoughout Dubai Tour and Abu Dhabi Tour and proved to be uncomfortable with his new train despite he has always denied his lead-out to have pursued unsuccessful tasks. “I’ve been waiting such a long time for this victory! – said Marcel Kittel after the podium ceremony – Since the beginning of the season, not everything was working good but we worked hard with the team and today it finally pays off. I have to thank everyone for the good job. This is a big boost for the whole group”. The German sprinter, moreover, highlights a curious fact: “I’m also very happy because this is my first professional victory in Italy. At the Giro, I won stages in other countries”, closes Kittel.
