Volta Limburg Classic 2018, Tratnik takes the win

Jan Tratnik (CCC – Sprandi) wins the 2018 Volta Limburg Classic. Not unlike yesterday at the Route Adelie de Vitré the breakaway has led the race since the beginning until the finish line and Tratnik was the most cunning rider on the sprint after 195 kilometers of racing. The heavy rain affected the race for most of its lenght and the peloton found out the chase more difficult than what it was expected at the beginning by the sprinters’ teams. The Slovenian joined the four men in the lead within the last ten kilometers of racing and beated Marco Tizza (Nippo – Vini Fantini – Europa Ovini) and Jimmy Janssens (Cibel – Cebon). The other riders that fought for the success, Thomas Degand (Wanty – Groupe Gobert) and Eddie Dunbar (Aqua Blue Sport), finished respectively in fourth and in fifth. Tratnik took in this manner the second success throughout the season: CCC – Sprandi rouleur, in facts, got the victory on Settimana Coppi e Bartali stage 4 too.
