Welcome to Tour of the Alps 2018 Stage 4 live feed coverage. Cyclingpro.net is delivering direct from inside the race the latest news regarding the fourth day of racing in the Alps. The Alpine competition has come to its forty-second edition and the roads of Trentino, Sudtirol and Tirol regions are featuring the event. The race will hit three climbs and the route, which amounts to 134,3 kilometers, runs from Chiusa to Lienz. The final roughness of Tour of the Alps stage 4 is Bannberg uphill (7 km, 6,7% average), whose summit is just 10 kilometers to the finish line. Thibaut Pinot is holding the overall jersey but Domenico Pozzovivo, Miguel Angel Lopez and Chris Froome sit just behind the Frenchman in the GC.

Laengen, who was part of the chasing group, is paving the way to Aru when they are on the steepest stage of Bannberg uphill! The gradient is up to 13%.

Froome and Aru were close to each other and as soon as Team Sky and UAE team Emirates leaders spoke, their teams moved down from the head of the peloton. Several riders attacked from the group and now both the lead and the chasing group are on the Bannberg.

With over 19 kilometers remaining the breakaway is over! The bunch is all together again and is approaching the Bannberg up-hill.

We have a leading group of seven now. Louis Meintjes (Dimension Data) and David De la Cruz (Team Sky) joined the chasers, who chased in turns the leaders. The breakaway sits 25 seconds ahead of the peloton with over 96 kilometers remaining.
