Paris-Nice: Rudy Mollard takes Stage 6 for Groupama-FDJ

It was the first ever WorldTour victory for Rudy Molard today at Stage 6 of Paris-Nice 2018. The Groupama-FDJ rider played a strong hand on the run into Vence- he broke away from the group of general classification favourites just after the flamme rouge. Although the Frenchman had created a significant gap between himself and his rivals he came close to jeopardising his victory by a flurry of glances behind as closed-in on the finish line. Tim Wellens (Lotto-Soudal) and Julian Alaphilippe (Quick Step Floors) took second and third places respectively, while Luis Leon Sanchez (Astana) maintained the yellow jersey.
