Poels will be Sky’s vice-leader at the Giro d’Italia
Wout Poels is going to have an important part inside Team Sky‘s line-up for 2018 Giro d’Italia. The Dutchman, who is performing well at Paris-Nice and is former Vuelta a Andalucia winner, will be the Team Sky’s leader in case Chris Froome won’t be capable of leading the british squad at the Corsa Rosa. Poels will keep this role even if Froome will be forced to stop by because of the pending case about his Sambutamol positivity.
Cavendish has fractured a rib
Mark Cavendish did not take part today in Tirreno-Adriatico 2018 stage 2. Dimension Data sprinter was forced to abandon the Corsa dei due Mari because he crossed the finish line of the team time trial out of time. For several of the insiders this decision is too harsh but at least Cavendish will have the time to recover from a rib fracture.
