Pascal Eenkhoorn (Lotto Nl – Jumbo) wins the 2018 Settimana Coppi e Bartali first half stage of day one of racing over Lawson Craddock (EF Education First – Drapac) after having spent 84 kilometers in the break. Twenty-one years old Emil Dima (MsTina – Focus) was part of the lead but gave up with over 30 kilometers remaining. The bunch finished 1’07” behind the leaders and Davide Ballerini (Androni – Sidermec – Bottecchia) took a podium position by winning the sprint over Christopher Lawless (Team Sky), Casper Pedersen (Aqua Blue Sport) and Marco Canola (Nippo – Vini Fantini – Europa Ovini). Pascal Eenkhoorn is the first overall leader of 2018 Settimana Coppi e Bartali waiting for the team time trial that will take place in the afternoon.
