Settimana Coppi e Bartali 2018, Lawless takes stage 3

Christopher Lawless (Team Sky) takes his first victory in caree as a professional rider on 2018 Settimana Coppi e Bartali stage 3. The twenty-two years old Brit overcame Paolo Totò (Sangemini – MgKVis), Lorenzo Rota (Bardiani – CSF) and Emils Liepins (One Pro Cycling) at the sprint after 171 kilometers of racing from Crevalcore to Crevalcore. A crash occurred into the leading positions of the bunch within the last three kilometers and many riders have been involved. This incident splitted the group and only several rider could fight for the victory. The overall leader Diego Rosa (Team Sky) was part of the forty riders who crossed the finish line all together and keeps on his shoulders the leader’s jersey with just over one stage remaining.
