Amstel Gold Race 2018, Valgren: “I’m more confident. All the work I’ve done pays off”

Michael Valgren wins the 2018 Amstel Gold Race as an outsider. Or, at least, outsider is what Valgren thought of himself with regards to his role in the race. The Dane took the victory with astuteness and lucidity, which are flairs in possession of talented riders. Moreover, it is important to underline the kinds of victory achieved by Valgren this year: Astana rider has won both a classic on the cobbles and in the Ardennes, making him a authentic all-rounder.
