Collarbone fracture affects Kelderman

There’s no end for bad luck to team Sunweb. Throughout yesterday stage of racing at the 2018 Tirreno-Adriatico Tom Dumolin crashed and suffered of multiple bruises and abrasions on his chest, an injury that forced the Dutchman to pull out the race. Today was the turn of Wilco Kelderman: because of Dumoulin’s abandon, the former Rabobank rider became Sunweb’s leader in the GC but will not get a chance anymore to achieve a good result. In facts Kelderman broke his collarbone and of course was forced to abandon theTirreno-Adriatico.

Rocco Cattaneo is the new UEC President

Rocco Cattaneo was elected by acclamation as President of the Union Européenne de Cyclisme at the Ordinary Congress held today in Istanbul (Turkey). Te event has been attended by delegates from 44 National Federations out of the 50 affililated member countries. After being elected UEC Management Board member at the Brussels Congress in 2017, the Swiss has been the Acting President since September following the election of David Lappartient as UCI President. He will lead the Continental Confederation until the normal expiry of the term at the beginning of 2021.

Areruya signs with Delko

Joseph Areruya is a new Delko – Marseille Provence – KTM rider. The Rwandan signed a deal with the French Professional team moving from Dimension Data for Qhubeka Continental Team. The twenty-one years old has already got a good pedigree: last year he won stage 5 at Giro d’Italia U23 and two stages plus the GC at Tour of Rwanda. Areruya started off this season with a bang: in facts he succeeded in winning the overall of Tropicale Amissa Bongo, a race where actually Delko took part.
