Moschetti and Asgreen join World Tour teams
Matteo Moschetti (Polartec – Kometa) signed a two years deal with Trek-Segafredo and Kasper Asgreen (Team Virtu Cycling) is recruited by Quick Step Floors. The twenty-one years old Italian sprinter will join the American team next year and will wear the black and red shirt until 2020. A different deal has been signed by Asgreen: the Dane joins the belgian team immediately and he will line up for next week Scheldeprijs. Also Asgreen will ride in the World Tour at least until 2020.
Bernal suffers of two shoulder fractures
Egan Bernal is forced to stop after the crash that occurred on the Volta a Catalunya stage 7. Team Sky climber fractured his right collarbone and suffers of a scapula micro-fracture and are still to be decided both the path to rehabilitation and the possibility to be subject to a surgery. Bernal is disappointed of having missed the result he was close to achieve but he feels quite lucky because the injuries could have been worse.
Valverde and Quintana will take part to Dwars door Vlaanderen
Volta a Catalunya first and second finishers Alejandro Valverde and Nairo Quintana will test theirselves on the cobblestones at the Dwars door Vlaanderen. Both Movistar leaders will line up at the Tour de France and they will take part to the Flemish classic scheduled for tomorrow in order to become friendly with the cobbles with a view to Grande Boucle stage 9 on the pavés traditionally included in Paris-Roubaix route.
