Mollema wins Settimana Coppi e Bartali stage 2 and Rosa takes the lead
Bauke Mollema took his first seasonal success on Settimana Coppi e Bartali stage 2. Trek-Segafredo leader crossed the finish line in first after 130 kilometers of racing from Riccione to Sogliano al Rubicone and got the uphill finish of the Italian stage race. The Dutchman took the sprint over Diego Rosa (Team Sky) and Giulio Ciccone (Bardiani-CSF). His fellow countryman Koen Bowman (Lotto Nl-Jumbo) was leading solo until the flame rouge but a crash prevented him from winning the stage and settled for sixth. Diego Rosa is the new overall leader and holds 7″ of advantage over Mollema and 23″ over Bowman.
Pacioni wins Tour de Langkawi stage 5
Luca Pacioni is the proof that 2018 Tour de Langkawi sprints are a game between Italians. Wilier Triestina – Selle Italia sprinter took the third seasonal victory and becomes the most successful rider of his team ahead of Jakub Mareczko. Pacioni took the victory in Tanjung Malim over Riccardo Minali (Astana) and Malaysian Mohd Harrif Saleh after 108 kilometers of racing. Artem Ovechkin (Terengganu Cycling) kept on his shoulders the leader’s jersey.
