Pour autant, la course ne constitue pas une simple reprise, une banale rentr\u00e9e des classes. Elle est devenue, depuis une bonne d\u00e9cennie d\u00e9sormais, un rendez-vous sportif de premier plan pour les \u00e9curies WorldTour, qui entendent bien briller, scorer et performer d\u00e8s la reprise afin d&rsquo;entrer de plein pied, et de la meilleure mani\u00e8re qui soit, dans la nouvelle saison. Cependant, l&rsquo;\u00e9preuve reste encore bien souvent l&rsquo;apanage des Australiens et autres coureurs de l&rsquo;h\u00e9misph\u00e8re sud, plus habitu\u00e9s aux temp\u00e9ratures estivales \u00e0 cette p\u00e9riode de l&rsquo;ann\u00e9e, mais aussi naturellement motiv\u00e9s et pr\u00e9par\u00e9s de fa\u00e7on optimale pour cette course \u00e0 domicile.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La course, sur le papier, reste dans une configuration classique, avec quelques \u00e9tapes pour les sprinteurs\/puncheurs et une v\u00e9ritable \u00ab\u00a0\u00e9tape reine\u00a0\u00bb pour puncheurs\/grimpeurs cens\u00e9e \u00e9tablir la hi\u00e9rarchie du classement g\u00e9n\u00e9ral. La nouveaut\u00e9 cette saison r\u00e9side dans le fait que cette journ\u00e9e d\u00e9cisive, sur la c\u00e9l\u00e8bre mont\u00e9e de Willunga Hill (3 km \u00e0 7,5%) &#8211; qui sera \u00e0 franchir \u00e0 deux reprises -, sera plac\u00e9e en conclusion de l&rsquo;\u00e9preuve. Il faudra donc attendre le terme de la toute derni\u00e8re \u00e9tape pour conna\u00eetre le vainqueur du classement g\u00e9n\u00e9ral. En attendant, les sprinteurs et les puncheurs auront tout le loisir de s&rsquo;exprimer. Les purs sp\u00e9cialistes de la derni\u00e8re ligne droite ont d&rsquo;ores et d\u00e9j\u00e0 rendez-vous sur les deux premi\u00e8res \u00e9tapes ainsi que sur l&rsquo;avant-derni\u00e8re. Le troisi\u00e8me acte pr\u00e9sente le plus haut total de d\u00e9nivel\u00e9 positif de la semaine (3 300m) et le circuit accident\u00e9 autour d&rsquo;Uraidla, \u00e0 r\u00e9p\u00e9ter sept fois, devrait permettre une certaine s\u00e9lection et l&rsquo;\u00e9mergence des meilleurs puncheurs. Le lendemain, les pr\u00e9tendants au g\u00e9n\u00e9ral devront r\u00e9pondre pr\u00e9sent en direction de Campbelltown, o\u00f9 Simon Gerrans et Cadel Evans se sont impos\u00e9s par le pass\u00e9 sur un parcours similaire. En effet, la bosse de Corkscrew (2,5 km \u00e0 9%) viendra morceler le peloton avant une rapide descente vers la ligne d&rsquo;arriv\u00e9e.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La saison ne d\u00e9butant que cette semaine, il est forc\u00e9ment compliqu\u00e9 d&rsquo;analyser les forces en pr\u00e9sence selon leur forme du moment. Les coureurs eux-m\u00eames n&rsquo;ont sans doute pas encore la r\u00e9ponse \u00e0 cette question. N\u00e9anmoins, il apparait assez clair que Richie Porte, pass\u00e9 chez Trek-Segafredo cet hiver, postule au sacre, lui qui s&rsquo;est impos\u00e9 cinq fois de suite (!) \u00e0 Willunga Hill et qui a remport\u00e9 le g\u00e9n\u00e9ral en 2017. Il aura notamment face \u00e0 lui le Sud-Africain Daryl Impey (Mitchelton-Scott), le tenant du titre, qui avait rafl\u00e9 la mise l&rsquo;an pass\u00e9 pour &#8230; moins d&rsquo;une seconde face \u00e0 Porte. Parmi les favoris, on peut aussi citer certains qui ont d\u00e9j\u00e0 brill\u00e9 sur l&rsquo;\u00e9preuve tels que Diego Ulissi (UAE Team Emirates), Tom-Jelte Slagter (Dimension Data), Domenico Pozzovivo (Bahrain-Merida), Jay McCarthy (Bora-hansgrohe) ou le m\u00e9daill\u00e9 mondial Michael Woods (EF Education First).\u00a0 Wout Poels (Team Sky), Pierre Latour (AG2R-La Mondiale), George Bennett (Jumbo-Visma), Ruben Fernandez (Movistar) ou Ben O\u2019Connor (Dimension Data) pourront aussi exhiber leurs qualit\u00e9s de grimpeur mais il sera aussi int\u00e9resser d\u2019observer le talentueux Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates) et les \u00ab\u00a0locaux\u00a0\u00bb Chris Hamilton, J\u2019ai Hindley et Michael Storer (Sunweb).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">C\u00f4t\u00e9 sprinteurs, on s&rsquo;attend surtout \u00e0 une bataille entre Elia Viviani (Deceuninck-Quick Step), meilleur scoreur de la saison pass\u00e9e, Caleb Ewan (Lotto-Soudal), vainqueur de la Down Under Classic et Peter Sagan (Bora-hansgrohe). Il y aura toutefois du monde pour arbitrer cette lutte, \u00e0 commencer par l&rsquo;Italien Jakub Mareczko (CCC), les Allemands Phil Bauhaus (Bahrain-Merida) et Max Walscheid (Sunweb), mais aussi Jasper Philipsen (UAE Team Emirates), Dan McLay (EF Education First), Danny van Poppel (Jumbo-Visma) et Kristoffer Halvorsen (Team Sky).<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>Cartes et
