Cr\u00e9\u00e9e en 1908, cette course d\u2019outre-Rhin poss\u00e8de le statut 1.1 au calendrier de l\u2019Europe Tour. Si les sprinteurs ont souvent rafl\u00e9 la mise ces derni\u00e8res saisons, l\u2019\u00e9preuve reste toutefois assez ouverte en raison d\u2019un parcours quelque peu accident\u00e9. Tout au long des 207 kilom\u00e8tres du parcours se dressent ainsi une dizaine de bosses, n\u2019\u00e9tant toutefois pas toutes r\u00e9pertori\u00e9es. Jusqu\u2019aux vingt-cinq derniers kilom\u00e8tres, la route alterne donc entre mont\u00e9es et descentes. Ce n\u2019est qu\u2019\u00e0 l\u2019issue de la derni\u00e8re bosse, \u00e0 30 kilom\u00e8tres de la ligne, que la route devient plate, et ce jusqu\u2019\u00e0 l\u2019arriv\u00e9e. L\u2019opportunit\u00e9 donc pour les sprinteurs de revenir dans la bataille, si les puncheurs n\u2019ont n\u00e9anmoins pas creus\u00e9 d\u2019\u00e9cart r\u00e9dhibitoire. L&rsquo;arriv\u00e9e est jug\u00e9e sur un circuit urbain \u00e0 Cologne de pr\u00e8s de 7 kilom\u00e8tres \u00e0 couvrir \u00e0 trois reprises.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Laur\u00e9at l&rsquo;an pass\u00e9 au terme d&rsquo;une course de mouvements, Gregor M\u00fchlberger (Bora-hansgrohe) n&rsquo;est pas au d\u00e9part cette saison.
