\nAnciennement appel\u00e9 Grand Prix de Francfort, la course allemande nait en 1962 et change d’appellation pour Eschborn-Francfort \u00e0 l’occasion de cette \u00e9dition 2018. Ce changement n’est pas le seul \u00e0 intervenir cette ann\u00e9e, puisque les organisateurs ont souhait\u00e9 rendre la course plus spectaculaire en ajoutant des difficult\u00e9s au long des 211 kilom\u00e8tres constituant le parcours. Ainsi le peloton devra r\u00e9sister \u00e0 2200 m\u00e8tres de d\u00e9nivel\u00e9 positif avec de nombreuses ascensions, dont certaines sont tr\u00e8s embl\u00e9matiques de l’\u00e9preuve allemande :\u00a0le mont\u00a0Ruppertshain<\/span>\u00a0(1,3 km \u00e0 6,7%) sera grimp\u00e9 trois fois, ou le\u00a0Billtalh\u00f6he<\/span>\u00a0(3,5 km avec des pentes \u00e0 8,4%) qui est de retour au programme apr\u00e8s plusieurs ann\u00e9es d’absence. Si la course fut tr\u00e8s favorable aux sprinters-punchers ces derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es, l’organisation \u00e0 affirm\u00e9 sa volont\u00e9 d’en faire une classique plus ouverte avec l’ajout des diff\u00e9rentes difficult\u00e9s.<\/p>\n

A l’occasion de cet\u00a0Eschborn-Francfort, Laurens De Plus (Quick Step -Floors) fait sont retour \u00e0 la comp\u00e9tition cette ann\u00e9e. Apr\u00e8s sa grosse chute lors du dernier Tour de Lombardie, De Plus et Petr Vakoc\u00a0avaient \u00e9t\u00e9 renvers\u00e9s par un camion alors qu’ils s’entrainaient en compagnie de Bob Jungels en Afrique du Sud.<\/p>\n
