Deuxi\u00e8me course du week-end d\u2019ouverture en Belgique, elle suit directement l\u2019Omloop Het Nieuwsblad et offre donc \u00e0 certains l&rsquo;opportunit\u00e9 de rebondir en cas d&rsquo;\u00e9chec veille. Cr\u00e9\u00e9e en 1945, elle fait partie de l\u2019UCI Europe Tour et a \u00e9t\u00e9 promue au rang 1.HC en 2016. Cette course, qui fait l\u2019aller-retour entre Kuurne et la banlieue de Bruxelles, propose de nombreux monts mais ceux-ci ne sont pas forc\u00e9ment d\u00e9terminants puisque l\u2019\u00e9preuve s\u2019est \u00e0 de nombreuses reprises achev\u00e9e par un sprint massif apr\u00e8s regroupement, dans ou \u00e0 l\u2019approche du circuit local final. \u00c0 ce titre, nombre de sprinteurs viennent chaque ann\u00e9e, conscients d\u2019avoir leur chance de victoire s\u2019ils s\u2019accrochent dans la partie des monts.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">L\u2019\u00e9preuve propose toutefois un tr\u00e8s joli parcours, le m\u00eame qu&rsquo;en 2017, et il ne faudra pas attendre longtemps pour voir les coureurs attaquer le premier mont, avec l\u2019Edelareberg situ\u00e9 apr\u00e8s 30 kilom\u00e8tres de course. Il y aura ensuite un petit temps d\u2019attente avant d\u2019attaquer l\u2019Onkerzeleberg, long de 2 kilom\u00e8tres \u00e0 3%. Il y aura ensuite un encha\u00eenement de dix monts dont le Kanarieberg, le Kruisberg, la C\u00f4te du Trieu, le Vieux Quaremont ou encore le Nokereberg qui constituera la derni\u00e8re bosse \u00e0 franchir, \u00e0 50 kilom\u00e8tres de la ligne. Les coureurs iront ensuite chercher la ligne d\u2019arriv\u00e9e avant d\u2019entamer une premi\u00e8re boucle puis le circuit local final, l\u00e0 o\u00f9 Jasper Stuyven avait r\u00e9alis\u00e9 son num\u00e9ro en r\u00e9sistant seul au retour du peloton pour s\u2019imposer en solitaire en 2016.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La saison derni\u00e8re, la course s&rsquo;\u00e9tait d\u00e9cant\u00e9e de tr\u00e8s loin et avait permis \u00e0 un gros d&rsquo;une vingtaine de coureurs d&rsquo;\u00e9merger dans les 50 derniers kilom\u00e8tres. \u00c0 la suite d&rsquo;une attaque de Stuyven dans les derniers kilom\u00e8tres, c&rsquo;est finalement un groupe de cinq qui \u00e9tait all\u00e9 se jouer la victoire \u00e0 Kuurne. Peter Sagan avait alors r\u00e9gl\u00e9 Stuyven et Luke Rowe au sprint. Le champion du monde ne d\u00e9fendra pas son titre, ayant d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de faire l&rsquo;impasse sur ce week-end d&rsquo;ouverture 2018. Malgr\u00e9 tout, les forces ne manqueront pas ce dimanche et il est fort \u00e0 parier qu&rsquo;une nouvelle lutte s&rsquo;installera entre les sprinteurs et les attaquants. Cela promet donc une nouvelle course agit\u00e9e.
