Elle a lieu dans la r\u00e9gion \u00e9ponyme d&rsquo;Alberta, au Canada. Cette saison, \u00e0 l\u2019occasion de sa cinqui\u00e8me \u00e9dition, l&rsquo;\u00e9preuve va conna\u00eetre une certaine \u00e9volution. Tout d\u2019abord, afin d\u2019all\u00e9ger la pression sur l\u2019\u00e9conomie\u00a0territoriale, la course a \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9duite \u00e0 quatre jours, contre cinq lors des ann\u00e9es pass\u00e9es. Puis, les organisateurs ont d\u00e9cid\u00e9 d\u2019am\u00e9nager l\u2019\u00e9preuve d\u2019une fa\u00e7on assez in\u00e9dite. Ainsi, alors que la premi\u00e8re \u00e9tape se d\u00e9roulera enti\u00e8rement dans le Jasper National Park, les trois suivantes seront concentr\u00e9es autour de la m\u00e9tropole d\u2019Edmonton, o\u00f9 seront d\u2019ailleurs trac\u00e9s \u00e0 la fois les d\u00e9parts, mais aussi les arriv\u00e9es. Ce mod\u00e8le nomm\u00e9\u00a0\u00ab\u00a0hub-and-spoke\u00a0\u00bb permet de disposer d\u2019un ancrage central autour duquel\u00a0s\u2019organise le reste de l\u2019\u00e9v\u00e8nement.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Concernant le parcours, il devrait avantager les puncheurs-sprinteurs, \u00e0 l&rsquo;exception de la premi\u00e8re \u00e9tape. Celle-ci se conclura avec une arriv\u00e9e au sommet, \u00e0 la station de ski de Marmot Basin (13,1 km \u00e0 5%). C&rsquo;est l\u00e0 que le classement g\u00e9n\u00e9ral devrait prendre forme, avant d&rsquo;\u00e9ventuellement \u00e9voluer quelque peu au cours des trois actes suivants. Le vainqueur sortant Robin Carpenter, bless\u00e9, ne sera pas pr\u00e9sent au d\u00e9part de cette \u00e9dition 2017. Les favoris se nomment ainsi Tom-Jelte Slagter, Lawson Craddock (Cannondale-Drapac), Rob Britton (Rally Cycling), Taylor Eisenhart (Holowesko-Citadelle), Janier Acevedo (Unitedhealthcare), Serghei
