Cr\u00e9\u00e9\u00a0en 1935, le Tour d\u2019Espagne est le plus jeune des trois Grands Tours. Plac\u00e9 au printemps jusqu\u2019en 1995, il se d\u00e9roule d\u00e9sormais \u00e0 cheval entre les mois d\u2019ao\u00fbt et septembre. L\u2019\u00e9preuve, organis\u00e9e par les soci\u00e9t\u00e9s Unipublic et ASO, f\u00eatera sa 72\u00e8me \u00e9dition cette saison et son 82\u00e8me anniversaire.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00c0 cette occasion, c&rsquo;est donc le premier Grand D\u00e9part de la Vuelta en France qui sera c\u00e9l\u00e9br\u00e9. Les organisateurs ont choisi N\u00eemes et leurs fameuses ar\u00e8nes pour accueillir pas moins de 198 gladiateurs pr\u00eats au combat. La mise en action ne sera pas des plus d\u00e9licates et les \u00e9quipes de favoris sont attendues au tournant d\u00e8s la premi\u00e8re \u00e9tape, \u00e0 savoir le traditionnel contre-la-montre par \u00e9quipes d&rsquo;ouverture. Trac\u00e9 sur \u00e0 peine 13,7 kilom\u00e8tres, celui-ci ne devrait pas faire de gros d\u00e9g\u00e2ts. Toujours est-il qu&rsquo;il est mieux de s&rsquo;engager dans une telle aventure avec quelques secondes d&rsquo;avance que quelques secondes de retard. Car une fois de plus, c&rsquo;est un parcours particuli\u00e8rement explosif et montagneux qui attend le peloton. Sur les vingt-et-une \u00e9tapes, on n&rsquo;en d\u00e9nombre ainsi\u00a0que quatre ou cinq r\u00e9ellement susceptibles de convenir aux sprinteurs. Cela sera notamment le cas \u00e0 Gruissan dimanche et \u00e0 Madrid, le dernier jour.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Entre temps, les favoris auront tout le loisir de s&rsquo;affronter. Le premier test ne se fera pas attendre. Il interviendra d\u00e8s la troisi\u00e8me \u00e9tape, du c\u00f4t\u00e9 d&rsquo;Andorre La Vieille, apr\u00e8s l&rsquo;ascension du Coll de la Rabassa (13,3 km \u00e0 6.8%) et de l&rsquo;Alto de la Comella (4,3 km \u00e0 8.6%). Une premi\u00e8re s\u00e9lection et une premi\u00e8re hi\u00e9rarchie devraient alors en d\u00e9couler. Ces m\u00eames pr\u00e9tendants au classement g\u00e9n\u00e9ral devront ensuite r\u00e9pondre pr\u00e9sent sur trois\u00a0arriv\u00e9es explosives avant la premi\u00e8re journ\u00e9e de repos. D&rsquo;abord lors de la cinqui\u00e8me \u00e9tape \u00e0 Alcossebre (3,4 km \u00e0 4,2 %), mais surtout \u00e0 l&rsquo;occasion de la huiti\u00e8me \u00e9tape, o\u00f9 l&rsquo;arriv\u00e9e sera trac\u00e9e au sommet du fameux &#8211; et terrible &#8211; Xorret de Cati (5 km \u00e0 9%), domin\u00e9 par David Moncouti\u00e9 en 2010, puis \u00e0 nouveau au terme de la neuvi\u00e8me \u00e9tape, sur le m\u00e9connu mais non moins redoutable\u00a0<span class=\"place\">Alto de Puig Lloren\u00e7a\u00a0(<\/span><span class=\"details\">4 km \u00e0 9.1%). C&rsquo;en sera alors termin\u00e9 de cette premi\u00e8re grosse semaine de course, sur la c\u00f4te Est espagnole, davantage r\u00e9serv\u00e9e aux puncheurs-grimpeurs.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La remise en route sera ensuite particuli\u00e8rement intense au lendemain de la journ\u00e9e de repos dans la province d&rsquo;Alicante. En direction d&rsquo;El Pozo Alimentaci\u00f3n, les coureurs devront ainsi escalader le\u00a0<span class=\"place\">Collado Bermejo (<\/span><span class=\"details\">7.7 km \u00e0 6.5%) \u00e0 moins de 30 kilom\u00e8tres de l&rsquo;arriv\u00e9e, jug\u00e9e tout au bout de la descente. Au contraire, c&rsquo;est une arriv\u00e9e au sommet qui sera au programme le lendemain. Il faudra aller chercher l&rsquo;observatoire de Calar Alto apr\u00e8s les ascensions cons\u00e9cutives de l&rsquo;Alto de Velefique (13.2 km \u00e0 8.6%) puis du\u00a0Calar Alto lui-m\u00eame (15.5 km \u00e0 5.9%), ascension finale longue et r\u00e9guli\u00e8re, qui pourrait occasionner de nouveaux chamboulements au g\u00e9n\u00e9ral. Malgr\u00e9 deux belles difficult\u00e9s en direction d&rsquo;Antequera, au cours de la douzi\u00e8me \u00e9tape, les favoris ne devraient pas esquisser le moindre mouvement. Ils ne feront leur retour aux avant-postes que pour les deux derni\u00e8res \u00e9tapes pr\u00e9c\u00e9dant l&rsquo;ultime journ\u00e9e de repos. La premi\u00e8re d&rsquo;entre elle les m\u00e8nera, via une mont\u00e9e finale s\u00e8che,\u00a0au sommet de la Sierra de la Pandera (12 km \u00e0 7.3%). Un joli terrain de jeu, mais tout de m\u00eame moins que la seconde, qui pourrait \u00eatre consid\u00e9r\u00e9e comme l&rsquo;\u00e9tape reine de cette Vuelta. Les coureurs iront chercher la Sierra Nevada au terme de 130 kilom\u00e8tres, incluant l&rsquo;Alto de Hazallanas (16.3 km \u00e0 5.5%) \u00e0 la mi-course, avant l&rsquo;encha\u00eenement, et sans descente, de l&rsquo;Alto del Purche (8.5 km \u00e0 8%) et de l&rsquo;Alto Hoya de la Mora-Monachil (19.3 km \u00e0 5.6%), au sommet duquel sera jug\u00e9 l&rsquo;arriv\u00e9e.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Au terme de ce week-end intensif, les favoris devront profiter au maximum de la journ\u00e9e de repos \u00e0 Logrono avant de faire face \u00e0 l&rsquo;une des \u00e9tapes d\u00e9cisives de cette Vuelta, le contre-la-montre individuel. Long de 40 kilom\u00e8tres, il ne dispose n\u00e9anmoins pas de r\u00e9elles difficult\u00e9s et il faudra donc pouvoir rouler fort sur les plaines de la Rioja. Le gros d\u00e9veloppement laissera sa place au petit le lendemain, vers une arriv\u00e9e tout aussi spectaculaire que vertigineuse \u00e0 Los Machucos. Le\u00a0<span class=\"place\">Puerto de Alisas (<\/span><span class=\"details\">10 km \u00e0 6%) \u00e9tablira une premi\u00e8re s\u00e9lection avant qu&rsquo;une autre, bien plus cons\u00e9quente, ne se fasse avant\u00a0l&rsquo;arriv\u00e9e au sommet pr\u00e9vu au Monument Viaca Pasiega. Derni\u00e8re difficult\u00e9 de l&rsquo;\u00e9tape, et nouveaut\u00e9 d\u00e9nich\u00e9e par les organisateurs, l&rsquo;ascension de Los Machucos effraie d\u00e9j\u00e0 de par ses 7.2 kilom\u00e8tres de mont\u00e9e \u00e0 8.7 %. Mais il faut s&rsquo;y pencher de plus pr\u00e8s pour constater qu&rsquo;elle comprendra quelques passages \u00e0 plus de 25% (!) et une deuxi\u00e8me partie d&rsquo;ascension r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement au-del\u00e0 des 10%. C&rsquo;est ainsi, \u00e0 juste titre, l&rsquo;une des \u00e9tapes les plus redout\u00e9es de cette Vuelta. Elle n&rsquo;est d&rsquo;ailleurs pas s&rsquo;en rappeler celle &#8230; de l&rsquo;Angliru ! Car c&rsquo;est bien trois jours plus tard que le g\u00e9n\u00e9ral final se d\u00e9cidera pour de bon, sur les pentes du terrible et vertigineux Angliru, col mythique s&rsquo;il en est. Les coureurs n&rsquo;auront que 117 kilom\u00e8tres \u00e0 parcourir \u00e0 la veille de l&rsquo;arriv\u00e9e \u00e0 Madrid, mais les trois semaines de courses ainsi que les Cols de\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"place\">Cobertoria\u00a0(<\/span><span class=\"details\">8.1 km\u00a0\u00e0 8.6%) et de\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"place\">Cordal (<\/span><span class=\"details\">5,7 km \u00e0\u00a08.6%) auront d\u00e9j\u00e0 bien entam\u00e9 les organismes avant le feu d&rsquo;artifice final. Comme en 2013, avec la victoire de Kenny Elissonde et le sacre de Chris Horner, l&rsquo;Angliru fera donc office de juge de paix de cette Vuelta. Rien ne sera au jou\u00e9 au pied, et aucune d\u00e9faillance n&rsquo;est permise sur les terribles 12,5 kilom\u00e8tres d&rsquo;ascension \u00e0 pr\u00e8s de 10% de pente moyenne. La deuxi\u00e8me partie du col sera tout particuli\u00e8rement redoutable, avec des\u00a0rampes allant de 14 \u00e0 23%. Ce n&rsquo;est qu&rsquo;au sommet que le vainqueur final de la Vuelta sera connu.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mais qui sera-t-il ? \u00c0 l&rsquo;aube du Grand D\u00e9part, les favoris se bousculent. Trois fois deuxi\u00e8me de l&rsquo;\u00e9preuve, Chris Froome apparait comme le plus concurrent le plus cr\u00e9dible. Habitu\u00e9 \u00e0 doubler Tour et Vuelta, le leader du Team Sky est \u00e0 la fois parmi les meilleurs grimpeurs\u00a0et certainement le meilleur rouleur des favoris. D\u00e9sireux d&rsquo;enfin remporter le Grand Tour qui l&rsquo;a r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9, le Britannique dit avoir mieux pr\u00e9par\u00e9 son affaire cette saison. Il devra faire face \u00e0 deux anciens laur\u00e9ats de la course, les Italiens Vincenzo Nibali et Fabio Aru, aux parcours bien diff\u00e9rents cette saison. Le Sicilien de la Bahrain-Merida aborde la Vuelta avec une fra\u00eecheur dont ne dispose pas la majeure partie de ses concurrents, ayant opt\u00e9 pour le Giro (3e) plut\u00f4t que pour le Tour plus t\u00f4t cette ann\u00e9e. Son compatriote a lui anim\u00e9 la Grande Boucle et sa r\u00e9cup\u00e9ration pose question. Chez Astana, Miguel Angel Lopez pourrait alors reprendre la main en cas de d\u00e9faillance du Sarde.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Parmi les favoris, il faut aussi et \u00e9videmment mentionner Romain Bardet. Si le coureur d&rsquo;AG2R-La Mondiale, deux fois sur le podium du Tour,\u00a0a temp\u00e9r\u00e9 les attentes avant la Vuelta, il devrait n\u00e9anmoins r\u00e9pondre pr\u00e9sent lorsque la route s&rsquo;\u00e9l\u00e8vera. Rafal Majka, rapidement contraint \u00e0 l&rsquo;abandon sur la Grande Boucle, a pour sa part eu le temps de refaire le plein d&rsquo;\u00e9nergie et devrait entamer la Vuelta frais physiquement, et mentalement. Quid, d\u00e8s lors, d&rsquo;Alberto Contador ? Quelque peu \u00e0 la peine sur le Tour, El Pistolero signe pour son dernier Grand Tour, sa derni\u00e8re course, m\u00eame, chez les professionnels. L&rsquo;esprit lib\u00e9r\u00e9, le coureur de la Trek-Segafredo tentera probablement d&rsquo;enflammer la course comme il en a d\u00e9sormais l&rsquo;habitude, \u00e0 d\u00e9faut de la dominer.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Parmi les hommes \u00e0 suivre, il faudra observer attentivement le trio Simon Yates-Adam Yates-Esteban Chaves chez Orica-Scott, capable de grandes choses si la forme r\u00e9pond. Les N\u00e9erlandais Steven Kruijswijk et Wilco Kelderman sont \u00e0 la recherche d&rsquo;une revanche apr\u00e8s un Giro inachev\u00e9. Ilnur Zakarin, Bob Jungels, David De La Cruz ou encore Domenico Pozzovivo seront eux aussi en qu\u00eate d&rsquo;un top-10.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Cartes et profils<\/strong><\/h3>\n<div id='gallery-1'
