Pour la premi\u00e8re fois de son histoire, \u00e0 l&rsquo;occasion de sa 55e \u00e9dition, l&rsquo;\u00e9preuve sera disput\u00e9e en tant que course du calendrier UCI WorldTour. Une promotion dont elle a b\u00e9n\u00e9fici\u00e9 \u00e0 l&rsquo;intersaison par l&rsquo;interm\u00e9diaire de la r\u00e9forme\u00a0orchestr\u00e9e par l&rsquo;Union Cycliste Internationale. L&rsquo;\u00e9preuve allemande rev\u00eat donc cette ann\u00e9e une toute autre valeur et la victoire en sera forc\u00e9ment plus prestigieuse. Cr\u00e9\u00e9 en 1962, le\u00a0<em>\u00ab\u00a0Rund um den Finanzplatz Eschborn-Frankfurt\u00a0\u00bb<\/em>, qui tire son nom de l&rsquo;arriv\u00e9e de l&rsquo;\u00e9preuve\u00a0situ\u00e9e dans le quartier des affaires de la cit\u00e9 germanique, op\u00e8re \u00e9videmment quelques ajustement pour cette \u00e9dition 2017.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Le parcours s&rsquo;allonge ainsi sur plus de 215 kilom\u00e8tres cette saison et traverse notamment, comme d&rsquo;habitue, les\u00a0montagnes Taunus, aux alentours de Francfort. Les coureurs franchiront \u00e0 plusieurs reprises la ligne d&rsquo;arriv\u00e9e pour se diriger vers les difficult\u00e9s environnantes. Huit bosses r\u00e9pertori\u00e9es seront au programme ce dimanche, dont le Felberg, point culminant de la course, et quatre<em>\u00a0ascensions de la fameuse c\u00f4te de Mammolshain, dont la<\/em>\u00a0derni\u00e8re \u00e0 pr\u00e8s de\u00a040 kilom\u00e8tres de l&rsquo;arriv\u00e9e. Il est ainsi probable qu&rsquo;un nouveau sprint vienne conclure l&rsquo;\u00e9preuve, m\u00eame si les attaquants ont toujours un espoir de r\u00e9ussite sur ces routes allemandes.\u00a0L&rsquo;an pass\u00e9, Alexander Kristoff (Katusha-Alpecin) l&rsquo;avait emport\u00e9 et ainsi conserv\u00e9 son titre acquis en 2014. Rappelons qu&rsquo;en 2015, le Grand Prix de Francfort avait \u00e9t\u00e9 annul\u00e9 \u00e0 la derni\u00e8re minute pour des raisons de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 suite \u00e0 un attentat d\u00e9jou\u00e9 \u00e0 la veille de la course.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Le Norv\u00e9gien aura fort \u00e0 faire pour d\u00e9fendre sa couronne. Les locaux\u00a0Marcel Kittel, John Degenkolb et Andr\u00e9 Greipel seront particuli\u00e8rement motiv\u00e9s devant leur public, \u00e0 l&rsquo;instar du champion du monde Peter Sagan, de retour \u00e0 la comp\u00e9tition apr\u00e8s une campagne de Classiques en de\u00e7\u00e0 de ses esp\u00e9rances.
