Course phare par le pass\u00e9, avec des vainqueurs de le trempe de Miguel Indurain, Laurent Jalabert, Alex Zulle, Abraham Olano ou encore Federico Bahamontes, l&rsquo;\u00e9v\u00e8nement a perdu de son cachet lors de la derni\u00e8re d\u00e9cennie. L&rsquo;\u00e9preuve se d\u00e9compose \u00e0 nouveau en trois \u00e9tapes, qui font la part belle aux puncheurs et grimpeurs. En guise de mise en bouche, une \u00e9tape l\u00e9g\u00e8rement accident\u00e9e avec la triple ascension du court Alto de Carabanzo (2.4 km \u00e0 8,8 %). La derni\u00e8re mont\u00e9e s&rsquo;ach\u00e8vera \u00e0 seulement six kilom\u00e8tres du but. Les meilleurs puncheurs ou un petit peloton devraient donc en d\u00e9coudre \u00e0 Pola de Lena. Le lendemain, les grimpeurs entreront r\u00e9ellement en piste avec l&rsquo;arriv\u00e9e au sommet \u00e0 l&rsquo;Alto del Acebo. Il est bien probable que le vainqueur de cette deuxi\u00e8me \u00e9tape soit le laur\u00e9at du g\u00e9n\u00e9ral car le dernier acte n&rsquo;offrira pas un terrain propice \u00e0 une grosse bagarre. Seule la mont\u00e9e d&rsquo;El Violelo (3,6 km \u00e0 8,4 %) rendra la t\u00e2che des coureurs difficile, \u00e0 sept bornes du but.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Hugh Carthy ne sera pas sur la ligne de d\u00e9part pour d\u00e9fendre sa couronne. En revanche, le Tour des Asturies accueille non sans enthousiasme Nairo Quintana sur cette \u00e9dition 2017. En fin de pr\u00e9paration pour le Tour d&rsquo;Italie, le Colombien a choisi la course ib\u00e9rique pour se jauger et peaufiner les derniers d\u00e9tails avant le d\u00e9part en Sardaigne.
