Sur le papier, la onzi\u00e8me \u00e9tape de la Grande Boucle devrait \u00eatre la seule chance pour les roues rapides dans cette deuxi\u00e8me semaine, mais dans les 50 derniers des 156,8 kilom\u00e8tres autour de <strong>Tolosa<\/strong>, les difficult\u00e9s ne manqueront pas, sous la forme de courtes ascensions, qui pourraient s&rsquo;av\u00e9rer un obstacle trop important pour les purs sprinters ou susciter l&rsquo;imagination de quelques attaquants. Apr\u00e8s le d\u00e9part de <strong>Tolosa<\/strong>, les coureurs parcourront 25,9 kilom\u00e8tres avant de rencontrer le premier test officiel de la journ\u00e9e, la <strong>C\u00f4te de Castelnau d&rsquo;Estr\u00e9tefonds<\/strong> (1,4 km \u00e0 6,6 %, max 9,9 %), apr\u00e8s quoi ils rouleront sur une route essentiellement plate pendant une cinquantaine de kilom\u00e8tres. Quelques br\u00e8ves mont\u00e9es et descentes appara\u00eetront \u00e0 l&rsquo;approche de l&rsquo;arriv\u00e9e volante de <strong>Labastide-Beauvoir<\/strong>, situ\u00e9e \u00e0 -59,5 km, mais apr\u00e8s une quinzaine d&rsquo;autres kilom\u00e8tres assez faciles, la <strong>C\u00f4te de Montgiscard<\/strong> (1,6 km \u00e0 5,3 %, max 8,4 %) verra les coureurs entrer dans la phase d\u00e9cisive de l&rsquo;\u00e9tape.<\/p>\n<p>Imm\u00e9diatement apr\u00e8s, la <strong>C\u00f4te de Corronsac<\/strong> (900 m \u00e0 6,7 %, max. 9,3 %), puis trois courtes ascensions non cat\u00e9goris\u00e9es mais n\u00e9anmoins assez exigeantes en l&rsquo;espace de 15 kilom\u00e8tres qui pr\u00e9pareront le terrain pour les deux derni\u00e8res bosses de la journ\u00e9e, o\u00f9 l&rsquo;action d\u00e9cisive pourrait se produire. La premi\u00e8re sera la <strong>C\u00f4te de Vieille-Toulouse<\/strong> (1,3 kilom\u00e8tres \u00e0 6,8%, max 9,9%), \u00e0 -14,3 de l&rsquo;arriv\u00e9e, tandis que la seconde sera la <strong>C\u00f4te de Pech David<\/strong>, longue de 800 m\u00e8tres seulement, mais avec une pente moyenne de 12,4% et un pic de 20,1%. Les c\u00f4tes courtes et explosives qui seront affront\u00e9es dans le final conviennent parfaitement aux caract\u00e9ristiques du ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne n\u00e9erlandais, qui, soit en s&rsquo;ins\u00e9rant dans l&rsquo;\u00e9chapp\u00e9e \u00e0 distance, soit avec une attaque sur le GPM final, pourrait aller chercher sa deuxi\u00e8me victoire d&rsquo;\u00e9tape. Mais cette \u00e9tape pourrait \u00e9galement convenir \u00e0 son rival <strong>Wout Van Aert<\/strong> (Visma | Lease a Bike), surtout s&rsquo;il s&rsquo;agit d&rsquo;un groupe relativement petit, o\u00f9 le Belge pourrait utiliser son sprint rapide pour prendre le dessus, mais il n&rsquo;est pas exclu qu&rsquo;il ne puisse pas non plus s&rsquo;\u00e9chapper de loin.<\/p>\n<p>Un sprint massif et une \u00e9chapp\u00e9e semblent \u00eatre les options les plus probables pour la journ\u00e9e, et dans le premier cas, des roues rapides assez robustes comme <strong>Kaden Groves<\/strong> (Alpecin-Deceuninck), qui s&rsquo;il survit aux difficult\u00e9s du final pourrait alors compter sur le soutien de Van Der Poel mentionn\u00e9 plus haut, ou comme <strong>Biniam Girmay<\/strong> (Intermarch\u00e9 &#8211; Wanty), qui apr\u00e8s ses trois victoires l&rsquo;ann\u00e9e derni\u00e8re n&rsquo;a pas encore r\u00e9ussi \u00e0 se faire remarquer dans cette \u00e9dition.
