Apr\u00e8s que les supporters ont emp\u00each\u00e9 un sprint massif lors de la premi\u00e8re journ\u00e9e, et apr\u00e8s les difficult\u00e9s de la deuxi\u00e8me \u00e9tape, le premier v\u00e9ritable sprint de cette \u00e9dition de la Grande Boucle devrait avoir lieu au terme des 178,3 kilom\u00e8tres de l&rsquo;\u00e9tape <strong>Valenciennes &#8211; Dunkerque<\/strong>, qui est presque enti\u00e8rement plate. Depuis le d\u00e9part \u00e0 <strong>Valenciennes<\/strong>, le peloton se dirigera principalement vers l&rsquo;ouest et ce, pendant les 100 kilom\u00e8tres suivants, dont la premi\u00e8re partie sera caract\u00e9ris\u00e9e par un certain nombre de changements de direction, mais une fois qu&rsquo;ils auront atteint Lillers, la route tournera brusquement vers le nord en direction d&rsquo;<strong>Isbergues<\/strong>, o\u00f9 l&rsquo;arriv\u00e9e en trombe sera fix\u00e9e \u00e0 60,1 km de la fin de l&rsquo;\u00e9tape.<\/p>\n<p>A partir de ce point et jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 l&rsquo;arriv\u00e9e, le parcours continuera dans la m\u00eame direction et sera principalement constitu\u00e9 de longues lignes droites, la seule difficult\u00e9 altim\u00e9trique se situant \u00e0 un peu plus de 30 kilom\u00e8tres de l&rsquo;arriv\u00e9e. Il s&rsquo;agit de la mont\u00e9e pav\u00e9e du <strong>Mont Cassel<\/strong> (2,3 km \u00e0 3,8 %, max 8,3 %), d\u00e9j\u00e0 escalad\u00e9e lors de la premi\u00e8re \u00e9tape (mais d&rsquo;un autre c\u00f4t\u00e9), qui ne devrait pas g\u00eaner les sprinters ni \u00eatre le th\u00e9\u00e2tre d&rsquo;attaques. Et cela \u00e9tant, il y aura <strong>Tim Merlier<\/strong> (Soudal Quick-Step) particuli\u00e8rement d\u00e9sireux de se montrer. Le champion d&rsquo;Europe en titre voudra marquer les esprits et d\u00e9montrer les qualit\u00e9s qui font de lui l&rsquo;un des sprinteurs les plus forts et les plus prolifiques du peloton. Dans la m\u00eame veine que le Belge, d\u00e9marre <strong>Jonathan Milan<\/strong> (Lidl-Trek), lui aussi anim\u00e9 par la volont\u00e9 de laisser d\u00e9finitivement la premi\u00e8re \u00e9tape derri\u00e8re lui. Le Frioulan semble en excellente condition et aura le soutien de l&rsquo;\u00e9quipe \u00e0 ses c\u00f4t\u00e9s, avec l&rsquo;objectif de remporter un nouveau d\u00e9fi avec Merlier : les deux se sont souvent crois\u00e9s dans leur carri\u00e8re et, cette ann\u00e9e, ils se sont partag\u00e9 les sprints sur l&rsquo;UAE Tour, o\u00f9 le bilan final \u00e9tait une parfaite parit\u00e9, avec deux victoires chacun.<\/p>\n<p>Au niveau du sprint, il y a un Jasper Philipsen (Alpecin-Deceuninck) qui a d\u00e9j\u00e0 montr\u00e9 qu&rsquo;il \u00e9tait en grande forme et qui, dans les grandes courses, est un coureur qui sait toujours faire parler de lui. De plus, l&rsquo;\u00e9quipe du Belge est probablement la mieux arm\u00e9e pour les sprints en ce moment, compte tenu du fait qu&rsquo;il y a <strong>Kaden Groves<\/strong> dans le r\u00f4le de meneur et qu&rsquo;il y a un <strong>Mathieu van der Poel<\/strong> qui pourrait faire valoir son Maillot Jaune en travaillant pour son co\u00e9quipier \u00e0 sa mani\u00e8re. En outre, l&rsquo;Australien et le N\u00e9erlandais pourraient \u00e9galement se charger d&rsquo;obtenir un r\u00e9sultat pour l&rsquo;\u00e9quipe, au cas o\u00f9 Philipsen serait exclu de la discussion finale pour une raison ou une autre.<\/p>\n<p>S&rsquo;il s&rsquo;agit d&rsquo;un sprint pur, tout le monde devra compter avec <strong>Dylan Groenewegen<\/strong> (Jayco-AlUla), qui peine lorsque la route grimpe, mais peut trouver des sprints exceptionnels sur des \u00e9tapes presque enti\u00e8rement plates comme celle-ci. Un <strong>Biniam Girmay<\/strong> (Intermarch\u00e9-Wanty), qui semble tr\u00e8s motiv\u00e9 et dont la condition physique est en hausse, entrera \u00e9galement dans la danse. Des signaux importants sont \u00e9galement attendus de la part de <strong>Jordi Meeus<\/strong> (Red Bull &#8211; hansgrohe), un autre pur sprinteur qui pourra \u00e9galement compter sur le travail d&rsquo;un des ouvreurs les plus qualitatifs du peloton, <strong>Danny van Poppel<\/strong>, pour qui des ambitions personnelles ne sont pas \u00e0 exclure a priori. Une \u00e9quipe qui a plusieurs solutions et aussi la force de tenter de perturber les plans des autres est Uno-X Mobility, qui comptera sur <strong>S\u00f8ren W\u00e6renskjold<\/strong>, troisi\u00e8me \u00e0 l&rsquo;arriv\u00e9e, et qui pourra lancer <strong>Stian Fredheim<\/strong> dans la bagarre en tant que coureur alternatif ou compl\u00e9mentaire.<\/p>\n<p>Reste \u00e0 voir ce que <strong>Arnaud de Lie<\/strong> (Lotto) pourra faire sur une arriv\u00e9e facile, tandis que Tudor tentera de confirmer le bon d\u00e9but de Tour de l&rsquo;\u00e9quipe en lib\u00e9rant le sprint d&rsquo;<strong>Alberto Dainese<\/strong> (Tudor), qui pourra compter sur le soutien de <strong>Matteo Trentin<\/strong> et <strong>Marius Mayrhofer<\/strong>, eux aussi potentiellement capables de s&rsquo;illustrer si le sc\u00e9nario de la course l&rsquo;exigeait. Apr\u00e8s une journ\u00e9e de grande nervosit\u00e9, les routes devraient cette fois \u00eatre plus favorables, m\u00eame si le dernier kilom\u00e8tre devra \u00eatre bien \u00e9tudi\u00e9 car il ne s&rsquo;agit pas d&rsquo;une ligne droite classique, le dernier kilom\u00e8tre longeant un canal, avec les d\u00e9tours naturels qui en d\u00e9coulent et qu&rsquo;il faudra bien \u00e9valuer lors du
