L&rsquo;\u00e9dition 2019 pr\u00e9sente un kilom\u00e9trage record : un tour du circuit de 12,2 kilom\u00e8tres a \u00e9t\u00e9 ajout\u00e9 cette ann\u00e9e pour un total de pr\u00e8s de 220 kilom\u00e8tres. D\u00e9j\u00e0 d\u00e9di\u00e9e aux costauds, l&rsquo;\u00e9preuve pr\u00e9sentera alors 4700 m\u00e8tres de d\u00e9nivel\u00e9 avec sa traditionnelle succession de mont\u00e9es et descentes. A couvrir dix-huit fois, la boucle propose d&rsquo;abord la C\u00f4te de Camillien-Houde (1,8km \u00e0 8%, passage max 13%). Apr\u00e8s une descente rapide, il faudra avaler la C\u00f4te de Polytechnique (780m \u00e0 6%, max 11%). Apparu l&rsquo;an pass\u00e9, le Boulevard du Mont-Royal revient avec ses 800 m\u00e8tres \u00e0 4%. Une bosse peu exigeante, mais qui p\u00e8sera dans les jambes au fil des tours avant la mont\u00e9e finale de l&rsquo;Avenue du Parc (500m \u00e0 4%). Pour autant, l&rsquo;Australien fera une nouvelle fois face \u00e0 une concurrence f\u00e9roce. Peter Sagan (Bora-hansgrohe) et Greg Van Avermaet (CCC), qui compl\u00e9taient le podium \u00e0 Qu\u00e9bec, seront une nouvelle fois candidats au titre. Julian Alaphilippe (Deceuninck-Quick Step), septi\u00e8me vendredi apr\u00e8s avoir men\u00e9 une course offensive, devrait lui monter en condition. Vainqueur en 2017 et d\u00e9j\u00e0 performant \u00e0 Qu\u00e9bec, Diego Ulissi (UAE Team Emirates) est visiblement en pleine forme. Son co\u00e9quipier Rui Costa a aussi d\u00e9j\u00e0 remport\u00e9 l&rsquo;\u00e9preuve, en 2011. Oliver Naesen m\u00e8nera AG2R-La Mondiale avec Beno\u00eet Cosnefroy, Tim Wellens d\u00e9fendra les int\u00e9r\u00eats de la Lotto Soudal. Bahrain-Merida pr\u00e9sente Sonny Colbrelli et Vincenzo Nibali, EF Education First compte sur le local Michael Woods ainsi que Sep Vanmarcke.
