Sur un parcours inchang\u00e9 depuis cinq ans, les costauds devraient encore s&rsquo;expliquer lors d&rsquo;un sprint en comit\u00e9 r\u00e9duit. Cette dixi\u00e8me \u00e9dition verra donc, comme les pr\u00e9c\u00e9dentes, les coureurs arpenter \u00e0 seize reprises un circuit de 12,6 kilom\u00e8tres. Deux courtes bosses \u00e9maillent la boucle, l&rsquo;occasion de surprendre les sp\u00e9cialistes de l&rsquo;\u00e9preuve pour les coureurs ambitieux. La premi\u00e8re des deux est la C\u00f4te de la Montagne (375m. \u00e0 10%), \u00e0 3,6 kilom\u00e8tres de la ligne. La seconde suit directement \u00e0 2,3 unit\u00e9s du but : la C\u00f4te de la Potasse (420m. \u00e0 9%). Le dernier kilom\u00e8tre est en mont\u00e9e \u00e0 environ 4% de moyenne avec un passage \u00e0 7% \u00e0 la flamme rouge. Malgr\u00e9 un total de 2976 m\u00e8tres de d\u00e9nivel\u00e9 r\u00e9partis en 201 kilom\u00e8tres de course, le palmar\u00e8s montre que l&rsquo;\u00e9preuve ne peut pas r\u00e9sister aux puncheurs.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Michael Matthews (Sunweb) se pr\u00e9sente ainsi \u00e0 la d\u00e9fense de son titre. Parmi ses principaux adversaires, l&rsquo;Australien trouvera Peter Sagan (Bora-hansgrohe), vainqueur en 2016 et 2017, ainsi que le num\u00e9ro 1 mondial Julian Alaphilippe (Deceuninck-Quick Step). Ce dernier pourra compter sur la pr\u00e9sence du ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne Remco Evenpoel \u00e0 ses c\u00f4t\u00e9s. Aussi, Matthews retrouvera Greg Van Avermaet (CCC) et Jasper Stuyven (Trek-Segafredo), les deux hommes qu&rsquo;il a battu en 2018. Oliver Naesen (AG2R-La Mondiale), Vincenzo Nibali et Sonny Colbrelli (Bahrain-Merida), Michal Kwiatkowski (Ineos), Diego Ulissi et Rui Costa (UAE Team Emirates), Tim Wellens (Lotto Soudal) ou encore Adam Yates (Mitchelton-Scott) seront aussi de la partie.
