La course rend hommage, depuis 2001, au coureur local Ricardo Otxoa, mort renvers\u00e9 par une voiture la m\u00eame ann\u00e9e. Cette ann\u00e9e encore, le parcours consiste en un circuit de 24 kilom\u00e8tres \u00e0 parcourir \u00e0 huit reprises (qui n&rsquo;est toutefois pas le m\u00eame que celui de l&rsquo;ann\u00e9e derni\u00e8re). L\u2019arriv\u00e9e se fait au sommet d\u2019une c\u00f4te de 800 m\u00e8tres \u00e0 7.4% qui conviendra parfaitement aux puncheurs. Ainsi, nous retrouvons au palmar\u00e8s Diego Ulissi, Juan Jos\u00e9 Lobato ou Giovanni Visconti, mais \u00e9galement Nacer Bouhanni qui, en 2015, avait r\u00e9ussi un v\u00e9ritable tour de force en s&rsquo;imposant devant Lobato et Barbero. L\u2019an pass\u00e9, c\u2019\u00e9tait Alex Aranburu (Caja Rural) qui s\u2019imposait pour la premi\u00e8re fois en devan\u00e7ant le sp\u00e9cialiste de l&rsquo;\u00e9preuve Carlos Barbero (2 victoires, 2 podiums). Il revient d\u00e9fendre son titre, et profitera de l&rsquo;absence du coureur de la Movistar pour tenter la passe de deux. Cette ann\u00e9e encore, Movistar est la seule formation WorldTour pr\u00e9sente, mais il faudra tout de m\u00eame noter la participation des \u00e9quipes fran\u00e7aises Vital Concept et Delko Marseille.
