Pour la deuxi\u00e8me arriv\u00e9e au sommet de l&rsquo;\u00e9preuve, la barre des 2000 m\u00e8tres d&rsquo;altitude sera d\u00e9pass\u00e9e pour la premi\u00e8re fois. Sur un parcours de \u00ab\u00a0seulement\u00a0\u00bb 117,5 kilom\u00e8tres, la course devrait \u00eatre rapide d\u00e8s le d\u00e9part et offrira sans aucun doute une belle bataille dans l&rsquo;ascension finale. Au d\u00e9part de Tarbes, les coureurs affronteront d&rsquo;abord la C\u00f4te de Labatmale (4e cat., 1,4km \u00e0 6,7%), au km18. Un tremplin id\u00e9al pour constituer une \u00e9chapp\u00e9e avant d&rsquo;aborder les choses s\u00e9rieuses. Les vingt-cinq kilom\u00e8tres suivants sont plats et m\u00e8neront le peloton au pied du Col du Soulor (1\u00e8re cat., 11,9km \u00e0 7,8%). L\u00e0, il est fort probable de voir une \u00e9quipe venir durcir la course pour op\u00e9rer une premi\u00e8re s\u00e9lection. Pass\u00e9e la longue descente qui suit le sommet, le sprint interm\u00e9diaire de Pierrefitte-Nestalas, au km86, marquera le point de d\u00e9part de l&rsquo;explication finale. Si l&rsquo;ascension du Tourmalet (hors cat., 19km \u00e0 7,4%) ne commence officiellement qu&rsquo;au km98, la route s&rsquo;\u00e9l\u00e8vera progressivement d\u00e8s le sprint interm\u00e9diaire. Une fois dans ce col mythique d\u00e9j\u00e0 emprunt\u00e9 \u00e0 82 reprises dans l&rsquo;histoire du Tour, les leaders trouveront un terrain id\u00e9al pour faire des diff\u00e9rences. Seuls les 8e et 11e kilom\u00e8tres d&rsquo;ascension sont \u00e0 moins de 6% de moyenne, le plus dur \u00e9tant situ\u00e9 \u00e0 l&rsquo;approche du sommet. Les derniers hommes capables de suivre la cadence trouveront alors un terrain id\u00e9al pour placer une attaque s\u00e8che et creuser un \u00e9cart. Le 17e kilom\u00e8tre d&rsquo;ascension est le plus dur, avec un pourcentage de 10,9%. Pourra-t-il conserver sa tunique apr\u00e8s pr\u00e8s de deux semaines d\u00e9j\u00e0 courues \u00e0 fond ? Une chose est s\u00fbre, le num\u00e9ro 1 mondial sera attaqu\u00e9 ce samedi! Il faudra d&rsquo;abord r\u00e9sister \u00e0 la force du train Ineos, qui tentera sans doute de placer Geraint Thomas sur orbite. Distanc\u00e9 au g\u00e9n\u00e9ral, Jakob Fuglsang semble lui contraint de passer \u00e0 l&rsquo;attaque. Avec une redoutable armada \u00e0 ses c\u00f4t\u00e9s, le leader d&rsquo;Astana pourrait bien dynamiter la course. Le danger viendra \u00e9galement de la Movistar avec son trident d&rsquo;excellents grimpeurs Nairo Quintana, Mikel Landa et Alejandro Valverde. S&rsquo;ils s&rsquo;entendent, ces trois-l\u00e0 pourraient bien mettre leurs rivaux dans le rouge et rattraper une partie du temps perdu. Parmi les grands favoris du jour, Thibaut Pinot (Groupama-FDJ) a d\u00e9j\u00e0 montr\u00e9 son excellente condition depuis le d\u00e9part. Il trouvera l\u00e0 un terrain \u00e0 sa mesure et peut compter sur de tr\u00e8s bons lieutenants : David Gaudu, S\u00e9bastien Reichenbach et Rudy Molard. Aussi, Rigoberto Uran (EF Education First) et Richie Porte (Trek-Segafredo) se sont rappel\u00e9s aux bons souvenirs des observateurs en signant un tr\u00e8s bon chrono. Ils sont en forme et seront \u00e0 surveiller ce samedi.
