Ce samedi, le peloton du Giro affrontera 131 kilom\u00e8tres, dont seulement 14 sont plats, pour relier Saint-Vincent \u00e0 Courmayeur. Cinq difficult\u00e9s sont r\u00e9pertori\u00e9es au classement de la montagne pour un total de 4000 m\u00e8tres de d\u00e9nivel\u00e9. Les r\u00e9jouissances commencent avec la mont\u00e9e de Verraye (2e cat., 6,7km \u00e0 8%) qui d\u00e9bute apr\u00e8s seulement sept kilom\u00e8tres. Situ\u00e9e juste apr\u00e8s le premier sprint interm\u00e9diaire, au km34,5, l&rsquo;ascension de Verrogne (1\u00e8re cat., 13,8km \u00e0 7,1%) devrait \u00eatre un premier test important. Suit ensuite une descente tr\u00e8s rapide, avant la mont\u00e9e de Truc d&rsquo;Arbe (2e cat., 8,2km \u00e0 7%), dont le sommet \u00e9maille au km75,5. Quatri\u00e8me difficult\u00e9 du jour, le Colle San Carlo (1\u00e8re cat., 10,5km \u00e0 9,8%) devrait \u00eatre le juge de paix de l&rsquo;\u00e9tape. Une fois pass\u00e9e le sommet, restera une descente de quinze kilom\u00e8tres pour aller chercher le pied de la mont\u00e9e finale vers Courmayeur (3e cat., 8km \u00e0 3,2%). Cela \u00e9tant, les favoris pourraient aussi avoir envie de se jouer une victoire de prestige, en plus de la course au maillot rose. Ainsi, Mikel Landa (Movistar), le plus offensif d&rsquo;entre eux jusqu&rsquo;alors, pourrait bien attaquer \u00e0 nouveau. La longue descente qui suit l&rsquo;ascension du Colle San Carlo fait aussi penser \u00e0 Vincenzo Nibali (Bahrain-Merida), mais il faudra pour cela qu&rsquo;il se d\u00e9fasse du marquage tr\u00e8s serr\u00e9 de Primoz Roglic (Jumbo-Visma). Parmi les favoris en forme, Bauke Mollema (Trek-Segafredo) et Richard Carapaz (Movistar) seront forc\u00e9ment \u00e0 surveiller. Alors qu&rsquo;il a perdu du temps \u00e0 cause d&rsquo;un ennui m\u00e9canique dans le final de la 13e \u00e9tape, Miguel Angel Lopez (Astana) sera sans doute revanchard.
