Sur 196 kilom\u00e8tres entre Pinerolo et Ceresole Reale (Lago Serr\u00f9), le peloton devra faire face \u00e0 trois ascensions majeures. S&rsquo;il est probable que la bataille des favoris attende la mont\u00e9e finale, tout commencera au km54 avec le Colle del Lys (1\u00e8re cat., 14,9km \u00e0 6,4%). Une belle occasion de marquer des points au classement de la montagne pour les \u00e9chapp\u00e9s. Vient ensuite une longue portion descendante pour mener les coureurs dans la zone de ravitaillement avant une nouvelle ascension. Au km120, d\u00e9butera alors la mont\u00e9e de Pian del Lupo (2e cat., 9,4km \u00e0 8,7%). Un col difficile qui devrait effectuer un premier \u00e9cr\u00e9mage au peloton, avant l&rsquo;ascension finale vers Lago Serr\u00f9 (1\u00e8re cat., 20,3km \u00e0 5,9%). Irr\u00e9guli\u00e8re, la pente de cette ultime difficult\u00e9 est surtout difficile entre le 3e et le 6e kilom\u00e8tre, avant une partie plus roulante. Les derniers kilom\u00e8tres affichent constamment une pente sup\u00e9rieure \u00e0 8%. Si un imposant groupe venait \u00e0 se d\u00e9gager \u00e0 nouveau, il devrait se disputer la victoire. Sinon, les favoris du Giro seront attendus \u00e0 Cereso Reale. Ainsi, Primoz Roglic (Jumbo-Visma) devrait \u00eatre attaqu\u00e9 de toutes parts. Tr\u00e8s offensifs hier, Mikel Landa (Movistar) et Miguel Angel Lopez (Astana) ont refait un peu de leur retard. Ils trouveront leur terrain de pr\u00e9dilection ce vendredi. Vincenzo Nibali (Bahrain-Merida) sera forc\u00e9ment \u00e0 surveiller, alors que Simon Yates (Mitchelton-Scott) pourrait b\u00e9n\u00e9ficier de la force de son \u00e9quipe sur un parcours aussi usant. La veille, c&rsquo;\u00e9tait la mieux repr\u00e9sent\u00e9e dans le groupe des favoris. Excellent grimpeur, Rafal Majka (Bora-hansgrohe) a montr\u00e9 depuis le d\u00e9part de Bologne qu&rsquo;il \u00e9tait au rendez-vous. Tout comme Bauke Mollema (Trek-Segafredo) ou Richard Carapaz (Movistar). Finalement, il faudra suivre la course du maillot rose Jan Polanc (UAE-Team Emirates).
