La premi\u00e8re partie de course ne propose pas de difficult\u00e9 particuli\u00e8re, hormis les deux sprints interm\u00e9diaires du jour. Des points pour le maillot cyclamen seront alors distribu\u00e9s \u00e0 celui d&rsquo;Ortona, au km38,5. Il y aura ensuite des bonifications \u00e0 prendre \u00e0 Ripa Teatina, au km77. Cette fois, le \u00ab\u00a0sprint\u00a0\u00bb est disput\u00e9 au sommet d&rsquo;une c\u00f4te de 4,7 kilom\u00e8tres \u00e0 3% de moyenne. Les difficult\u00e9s commencent ensuite avec une bosse non r\u00e9pertori\u00e9e, Chieti (5,5km \u00e0 4,5%), avant de rencontrer une ascension de deuxi\u00e8me cat\u00e9gorie. Le Svolte di Popoli (8,9km \u00e0 5,6%) \u00e9maille au km137 et pr\u00e9sente un passage \u00e0 10%. Ce sera l&rsquo;occasion d&rsquo;une premi\u00e8re s\u00e9lection, avant l&rsquo;arriv\u00e9e sur la rampe finale de L&rsquo;Aquila. Cette derni\u00e8re propose 1500 m\u00e8tres \u00e0 plus de 7% de moyenne. Une arriv\u00e9e id\u00e9ale pour un puncheur.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Si c&rsquo;\u00e9tait dans une situation particuli\u00e8re, Richard Carapaz (Movistar) a bien remport\u00e9 la premi\u00e8re \u00e9tape destin\u00e9e \u00e0 ce type de coureurs. Il sera donc \u00e0 surveiller, mais trouvera une belle concurrence sur la route du doubl\u00e9. Tony Gallopin (AG2R-La Mondiale) et Diego Ulissi (UAE-Team Emirates) devraient appr\u00e9cier cette arriv\u00e9e exigeante. Chez les puncheurs, on trouve \u00e9galement Enrico Battaglin (Katusha-Alpecin) et Enrico Gasparotto (Dimension Data), mais il se pourrait aussi que les favoris se livrent une premi\u00e8re explication. A ce titre, Simon Yates (Mitchelton-Scott) et Primoz Roglic (Jumbo-Visma) semblent les mieux arm\u00e9s pour s&rsquo;imposer.
