Celle-ci a parfaitement manoeuvr\u00e9 dans le final en venant d\u00e9poser id\u00e9alement le coureur de 22 ans alors que c&rsquo;\u00e9tait Mitchelton &#8211; Scott qui avait fait le train pour lancer le sprint. Halvorsen devance Dion Smith (Mitchelton &#8211; Scott) et Brenton Jones (Korda Mentha &#8211; Australia). Au g\u00e9n\u00e9ral pas de changement sur cette ultime \u00e9tape en forme de crit\u00e9rium dans les rues de Melbourne. Dylan van Baarle remporte donc ce Herald Sun Tour.<\/p>\n<p>Le parcours \u00e9tait typique des crit\u00e9riums australiens, avec un court circuit (4 km) \u00e0 parcourir plusieurs fois. Le d\u00e9part est \u00e9videmment tr\u00e8s rapide et un groupe parvient \u00e0 se d\u00e9tacher et \u00e0 prendre plus d&rsquo;une minute d&rsquo;avance. Nous retrouvons notamment Damian Howson (Michelton-Scott) et Jimmy Whelan (EF) \u00e0 l&rsquo;avant. Les hommes de t\u00eate s&rsquo;entendent bien et posent des probl\u00e8mes au peloton qui tarde l\u00e9g\u00e8rement \u00e0 revenir. A trois tours de l&rsquo;arriv\u00e9e, l&rsquo;\u00e9chapp\u00e9e compte encore 40 secondes d&rsquo;avance.<\/p>\n<p>La Sky acc\u00e9l\u00e8re alors \u00e0 l&rsquo;entame du dernier tour et vient reprendre les \u00e9chapp\u00e9es \u00e0 trois kilom\u00e8tres du but. Le sprint est parfaitement men\u00e9 par les hommes de l&rsquo;\u00e9quipe britannique, et Kristoffer Halvorsen s&rsquo;impose largement devant Dion Smith et Brenton Jones.
