Nell&#8217;economia della corsa potrebbe trattarsi di una giornata molto importante, visto il percorso disegnato dagli organizzatori nel territorio dei Vosgi, che prevede 4 Gran premi della Montagna e ben 3800 metri di dislivello positivo su una distanza relativamente breve (155,3 chilometri la lunghezza complessiva). In condizioni &#8220;classiche&#8221; ci si potrebbe attendere lo sviluppo del &#8220;due corse in una&#8221;, con i fuggitivi lasciati liberi di giocarsi la tappa e, alle loro spalle, gli uomini di classifica a lottare per secondi e minuti. Subito dopo la strada inizier\u00e0 a salire, verso la cima del <strong>Grand Ballon<\/strong>, salita simbolo di questa zona di Francia. L&#8217;ascesa, che ha pendenza media al 4,8 per cento \u00e8 lunghissima, dato che misura 21,5 chilometri, ma \u00e8 di fatto divisa in due parti: dal secondo all&#8217;ottavo chilometro il gradiente non scende mai sotto il 6 per cento, poi, nella zona di Hartmannswillerkopf Vieil-Armand, la strada prima scende, poi risale per un paio di chilometri in maniera molto dolce per poi scendere nuovamente. Una volta arrivati al Col Amic, si torna a salire seriamente, con 6 chilometri tutti con pendenza fra il 7,5 e il 9 per cento.<\/p>\n<p>Allo scollinamento non far\u00e0 subito seguito una discesa, dato che si rester\u00e0 in quota per 7 chilometri, raggiungendo cos\u00ec quella che sar\u00e0 poi la localit\u00e0 d&#8217;arrivo, <strong>Le Markstein Fellering<\/strong>, dove si passer\u00e0 per una prima volta sotto lo striscione del traguardo. A quel punto si scender\u00e0 per poi riprendere immediatamente a salire, affrontando il <strong>Col du Page<\/strong> (9,8 km al 4,7%), la cui cima segner\u00e0 in pratica la boa di met\u00e0 gara. Nuova, breve, discesa e ulteriore risalita verso la vetta del<strong> Ballon d&#8217;Alsace<\/strong> (8,9 km al 6,9%), ascesa gi\u00e0 affrontata 24 ore prima.<\/p>\n<p>Si entrer\u00e0 cos\u00ec nel settore finale, che prevede due tratti di falsopiano intervallati dall&#8217;ascesa, non categorizzata, del Col du Hundsruck. Al km 137, poi, inizier\u00e0 l&#8217;ultima salita, quella che decider\u00e0 la tappa: il\u00a0<strong>Col du Haag<\/strong>, prima categoria di 11,2 km con una pendenza media del 7,3%. Si tratta di una salita abbastanza irregolare, con un breve tratto in contropendenza dopo i primi 4 chilometri, tutti intorno all&#8217;8%. Dopo altri 4 km intorno all&#8217;8%, un falsopiano al 4% introduce agli ultimi 1600 metri, i pi\u00f9 duri: con una pendenza media del 10,6% e il tratto pi\u00f9 duro, dell&#8217;11,2%, dovrebbero essere quelli pi\u00f9 indicati a fare la differenza. Pensare che qualcuno possa riuscire a battere lo sloveno in salita in un duello diretto \u00e8 qualcosa di quasi impensabile, visto che fino ad ora ha dominato nelle tappe di montagna, prima staccando tutti sul Tourmalet nella sesta frazione e poi facendo il vuoto verso Le Lioran nella decima. A queste si aggiunge il successo sul breve strappo di Les Angles. Il campione del mondo sar\u00e0 quindi il favorito assoluto, a meno che il team scelga nuovamente di concedere terreno agli attacchi da lontano. Al fianco dell\u2019iridato vedremo poi <strong>Isaac Del Toro<\/strong>, che dopo il passo falso sul Massiccio centrale, dovr\u00e0 riscattarsi, sia per tornare a dare il proprio contributo al capitano, come nelle prime tappe, che per cercare di recuperare in classifica. Il messicano potrebbe avere anche chance in prima persona, in caso di qualche particolare scenario tattico.<\/p>\n<p>Fino ad ora non c\u2019\u00e8 stata partita nell\u2019atteso duello con il grande rivale <strong>Jonas Vingegaard<\/strong> (Visma|Lease a Bike), ma il danese potrebbe risollevarsi in una tappa con tante salite lunghe come questa. Un corridore della sua qualit\u00e0 non pu\u00f2 limitarsi ad avere un ruolo di comprimario e quindi c\u2019\u00e8 da aspettarsi che da qui alla fine arrivi almeno un sussulto, che faccia un tentativo, come gi\u00e0 avvenuto negli scorsi anni. Va tenuta in considerazione per\u00f2 anche la sua condizione, che potrebbe essere in calo per gli sforzi del Giro d\u2019Italia, quindi se da una parte potrebbe tornare a brillare, dall\u2019altra potrebbe anche avere un ulteriore calo. L\u2019uomo di riferimento al suo fianco sar\u00e0 <strong>Davide Piganzoli<\/strong>, che potrebbe avere anche lui qualche chance in caso di inserimenti tattici in azioni da lontano, cos\u00ec come il compagno <strong>Sepp Kuss<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Dopo aver acquisito maggiore fiducia con il terzo posto a Le Lioran, potremmo vedere la prima vera azione di <strong>Paul Seixas<\/strong> (Decathlon CMA CGM). Il diciannovenne francese ha sulle spalle una forte pressione, ma con il passare dei giorni \u00e8 sembrato pi\u00f9 a suo agio, considerando che si tratta pur sempre del suo esordio in un Grande Giro. Una tappa come questa potrebbe esaltare le sue caratteristiche da scalatore e magari potrebbe anche tentare un attacco, supportato anche da <strong>Matthew Riccitello<\/strong>. Gli altri due corridori in grado di ambiare realmente al successo sono i co-capitani della Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe. Partiamo da <strong>Remco Evenepoel<\/strong>, che dopo aver dati segnali contrastanti sul Massiccio centrale, prima staccandosi e poi recuperando alla grande nel finale, sar\u00e0 chiamato ad un\u2019esame di maturit\u00e0 in un tappone di questo livello. Se riuscir\u00e0 a tenere il passo dei migliori in salita potr\u00e0 attestarsi come pretendente al podio, altrimenti rischia di dover scivolare dietro al compagno. Infatti queste tappe dovrebbero essere il terreno preferito di <strong>Florian Lipowitz<\/strong>, che si esalta su salite lunghe e potrebbe quindi impostare un ottimo ritmo sull\u2019ultimo GPM e fare anche meglio del belga.<\/p>\n<p>Altra squadra che pu\u00f2 contare una una doppia pedina \u00e8 la Lidl-Trek con <strong>Juan Ayuso<\/strong> e <strong>Mattias Skjelmose<\/strong>. Lo spagnolo sembra aver ritrovato un\u2019ottima gamba, ma serve ancora uno step ulteriore per lottare davvero per le primissime posizioni. Dall\u2019altra parte il danese invece si sta confermando nuovamente un corridore regolare e affidabile, che potr\u00e0 ambire ad un buon risultato anche in questa tappa. Scalatore puro che potrebbe provare a incidere nel finale \u00e8 <strong>Lenny Martinez<\/strong> (Bahrain Victorious), anche se fino ad ora non \u00e8 stato all\u2019altezza dei rivali citati in precedenza. Da guardare poi con attenzione <strong>Tom Pidcock<\/strong> (Pinarello-Q36.5), che con la fuga di Belfort \u00e8 salito al quarto posto in classifica e sar\u00e0 quindi chiamato a rispondere subito presente in salita se vorr\u00e0 provare a giocarsi la top5.<\/p>\n<p>Dopo aver analizzato gli uomini di classifica, passiamo a corridori pi\u00f9 attardati nella generale, che potrebbero provare un\u2019azione da lontano, nel caso il gruppo concedesse spazio ad una fuga iniziale. Tra questi il primo nome in lista \u00e8 quello di <strong>Richard Carapaz<\/strong> (EF Education-EasyPost). L\u2019ecuadoriano \u00e8 gi\u00e0 stato protagonista con una bella azione nella tappa di Le Lioran e possiede sicuramente le caratteristiche per poter reggere al meglio in salita e provare a resistere al rientro dei big, Poga\u010dar in primis. Possibilit\u00e0 anche per il compagno di squadra <strong>Alex Baudin<\/strong>, che negli ultimi mesi ha dimostrato di poter vincere con azioni da lontano in tappe di questo tipo. Altra squadra che ha pi\u00f9 carte da giocare in un\u2019eventuale fuga \u00e8 la Netcompany Ineos, a partire da <strong>Egan Bernal<\/strong>, che ha detto chiaramente di avere l\u2019obiettivo di vincere andando in fuga. Ci potranno provare anche <strong>K\u00e9vin Vauquelin<\/strong> e <strong>Thymen Arensman<\/strong>, se sar\u00e0 riuscito a recuperare dai problemi fisici.<\/p>\n<p>Tra gli altri corridori che potranno dire la loro troviamo gli scalatori francesi <strong>Valentin Paret-Peintre<\/strong> (Soudal Quick-Step) e <strong>Jordan Jegat<\/strong> (TotalEnergies), il norvegese <strong>Tobias Halland Johannessen<\/strong> (Uno-X Mobility), sempre pericoloso nelle fughe, e il colombiano <strong>Harold Tejada<\/strong> (XDS Astana) brillante secondo nell\u2019ultima tappa.
