Le due ragazze nordamericane hanno allungato a met\u00e0 gara, approfittando anche di un guaio meccanico capitato alla neerlandese <strong>Lauren Molengraaf<\/strong>, che era in lotta con loro prima di scivolare indietro in classifica. Nelle prime battute la neerlandese Lauren Molengraaf si mette davanti a tutte a fare il ritmo, con l&#8217;azzurra <strong>Valentina Corvi<\/strong> lesta a farsi spazio nelle prime posizioni. Il primo passaggio sotto lo striscione del traguardo vede un gruppo di 8 atlete avvantaggiate rispetto al resto delle concorrenti: oltre a Corvi c&#8217;\u00e8 anche Federica Venturelli, insieme alle canadesi Ava Holmgren e Isabella Holmgren, alla francese C\u00e9lia Gery, alla statunitense <strong>Vida Lopez de San Roman<\/strong>, alla belga <strong>Xaydee van Sinaey<\/strong> e alla gi\u00e0 citata Molengraaf, che prova un altro allungo ma finisce a terra in una curva a sinistra.<\/p>\n<p>Alla fine del secondo giro in testa sono in 6, visto che all&#8217;appello mancano Corvi e San Roman, rimaste attardate di una ventina di secondi. Sono le gemelle canadesi Holmgren a fare il ritmo e a tentare l&#8217;allungo rispetto alle rivali. Molengraaf riesce a rispondere e a riportarsi sulle ruote delle due nordamericane, prima di incappare in un problema meccanico che la vede perdere rapidamente terreno e uscire cos\u00ec dalla lotta per il podio. Cos\u00ec, \u00e8 fuga canadese, con Isabella Holmgren che prende qualche metro di vantaggio sulla sorella, con Venturelli che riesce ad andare a occupare la terza posizione. L&#8217;azzurra per\u00f2 viene raggiunta\u00a0 dalla francese Gery nel corso del quarto giro, mentre le due canadesi scappano via verso una favolosa doppietta.<\/p>\n<p>Con l&#8217;oro e l&#8217;argento gi\u00e0 decisi, gli occhi sono tutti sul duello per la medaglia di bronzo, fra Gery e la cremonese Venturelli, che si risolve solo in una volata tiratissima sotto lo striscione del traguardo a favore della transalpina. Sfuma cos\u00ec, per pochi centimetri, il primo podio iridato per la Nazionale azzurra.
