La classica belga, in programma <strong>mercoled\u00ec 21 aprile<\/strong>, dopo l&#8217;ultima inedita versione autunnale torna quindi nella sua collocazione tradizionale a met\u00e0 della settimana tra Amstel Gold Race e Liegi &#8211; Bastogne &#8211; Liegi. La corsa potr\u00e0 vantare su un parterre di altissimo livello che comprende, oltre al detentore Marc Hirschi, i vincitori dei tre GT della scorsa stagione, (Tao Geoghegan Hart, Tadej Pogacar e Primoz Roglic), il campione iridato Julian Alaphilippe, qui vincitore due volte nel 2018 e 2019, e Alejandro Valverde, che detiene il record di vittorie, con 5 successi di cui 4 consecutivi. I corridori, dopo un inizio mosso, affronteranno il primo muro dopo 51,5 chilometri, la\u00a0<strong>C\u00f4te d&#8217;Yvoir<\/strong> (2,1 km al 6%). Proseguendo in direzione di\u00a0Gesves non ci saranno altri strappi da affrontare ma, a partire dal chilometro 85,7\u00a0ci sar\u00e0 un trittico di muri in rapida successione composto da\u00a0<strong>C\u00f4te de Thon<\/strong>\u00a0(1,2 km al 6,9%),\u00a0<strong>C\u00f4te de Groynne<\/strong>\u00a0(2,1 km al 5%) e\u00a0<strong>C\u00f4te de Haut-Bois\u00a0<\/strong>(1,2 km al 7,9%). Un po&#8217; di respiro, poi la\u00a0<strong>C\u00f4te de Gives<\/strong>\u00a0(1,4 km al 7,7%) sar\u00e0 l&#8217;ultima difficolt\u00e0 prima dell&#8217;ingresso nel circuito finale, quando mancheranno una settantina di chilometri al traguardo.<\/p>\n<p>Sar\u00e0 proprio in questo circuito, caratterizzato dall&#8217;iconico Muro di Huy da ripetere tre volte, che si infiammer\u00e0 la corsa. I corridori saliranno sul <strong>Muro di Huy<\/strong> (1,3 km al 9,6%) passando per la prima volta sulla linea del traguardo dopo 130 chilometri per poi salire sulla\u00a0<strong>C\u00f4te d\u2019Ereffe<\/strong>\u00a0(2,1 km al 5%), seguita subito dalla\u00a0<strong>C\u00f4te du chemin des Gueuses\u00a0<\/strong>(1,8 km al 6,5%). A quel punto il secondo passaggio sul Muro di Huy (1,3 km al 9,6%) dar\u00e0 il via all&#8217;ultimo giro, quando mancheranno 31,8 chilometri alla conclusione. La successione dei muri sar\u00e0 la stessa, con alcuni\u00a0che potrebbero provare ad anticipare sulla penultima asperit\u00e0 ma, come spesso avvenuto, sar\u00e0 l&#8217;ultima ascesa sul Muro di Huy a rivelarsi decisiva per le sorti della corsa con una probabile atipica volata ristretta in salita. Tra i nomi al via la salita finale fa pendere i favori del pronostico verso\u00a0<strong>Tadej Pogacar\u00a0<\/strong>(UAE Emirates), che ha dimostrato gi\u00e0 in diverse occasioni di poter far male in salita e che potr\u00e0 rivivere ancora una volta il duello tutto sloveno con\u00a0<strong>Primoz Roglic\u00a0<\/strong>(Jumbo-Visma). Il vincitore dell&#8217;ultima Liegi-Bastogne-Liegi sogna un avvicinamento ideale alla Doyenne e, dopo aver pagato anche il conto con la sfortuna domenica alla Amstel, stavolta avr\u00e0 una squadra tutta per s\u00e9, anche se\u00a0<strong>Jonas Vingegaard\u00a0<\/strong>rappresenta comunque una pedina piuttosto interessante.<\/p>\n<p>Questa corsa in passato era stata soprannominata dai tifosi Freccia Valverde, grazie al poker di vittorie consecutive di\u00a0<strong>Alejandro Valverde\u00a0<\/strong>(Movistar) dal 2014 al 2017 (a cui va aggiunto il successo nel lontanissimo 2006). Il murciano semrbra in gran forma in questo avvio di stagione e prover\u00e0 sicuramente a inserire ancora una volta il suo nome nell&#8217;albo d&#8217;oro. Sembra avere poi ancora pi\u00f9 possibilit\u00e0 il corridore che ha interrotto l&#8217;egemonia dell&#8217;Embatido, vale a dire\u00a0<strong>Julian Alaphilippe\u00a0<\/strong>(Deceuninck-QuickStep), vincitore nel 2018 e nel 2019, e desideroso di riprendersi lo scettro dopo aver saltato l&#8217;edizione del 2020.<\/p>\n<p>In rampa di lancio c&#8217;\u00e8 poi il giovane\u00a0<strong>Tom Pidcock\u00a0<\/strong>(Ineos Grenadiers), che in due mesi da pro ha gi\u00e0 dimostrato di poter essere competitivo su tutti i terreni e soprattutto di non avere alcun timore reverenziale nei confronti dei grandi del ciclismo. Il britannico \u00e8 reduce da due importanti volate in cui se l&#8217;\u00e8 giocata testa a testa con Van Aert (vincendone una e perdendo l&#8217;altra (<a href=\"https:\/\/cyclingpro.net\/spaziociclismo\/vetrina\/amstel-gold-race-2021-limmagine-ufficiale-del-fotofinish-chiarito-ogni-dubbio\/\">forse?<\/a>) solo al fotofinish). A soli ventunanni si \u00e8 dunque gi\u00e0 preso i gradi di capitano della Ineos, che per l&#8217;occasione schierer\u00e0 al via anche\u00a0<strong>Richard Carapaz\u00a0<\/strong>e\u00a0<strong>Adam Yates<\/strong>, altri due scalatori di altissimo livello dotati di un ottimo spunto veloce, senza dimenticare un corridore puramente da Classiche come\u00a0<strong>Michal Kwiatkowski<\/strong>, gi\u00e0 capace di salire sul podio di questa corsa in passato.<\/p>\n<p>Spunto veloce che possiede anche\u00a0<strong>Mike Woods\u00a0<\/strong>(Israel Start-Up Nation), che l&#8217;anno scorso ha chiuso il podio e che anche quest&#8217;anno dovr\u00e0 provare a rappresentare al meglio la vecchia guardia del ciclismo insieme ad altri corridori adatti al percorso come\u00a0<strong>Jakob Fuglsang\u00a0<\/strong>(Astana-PremierTech) e\u00a0<strong>Bauke Mollema<\/strong> (Trek-Segafredo), oltre ovviamente al gi\u00e0 citato Valverde.<\/p>\n<p>A rappresentare i giovani, poi, tornando al podio dello scorso anno,\u00a0 potrebbero esserci anche il corridore che ha conquistato la scorsa edizione, vale a dire\u00a0<strong>Marc Hirschi\u00a0<\/strong>(UAE Team Emirates), e colui che gli \u00e8 arrivato immediatamente alle spalle, ovvero\u00a0<strong>Benoit Cosnefroy\u00a0<\/strong>(Ag2r Citro\u00ebn). Lo svizzero, oltre a dover fare i conti con l&#8217;ingombrante presenza di Pogacar nella selezione, in questo avvio di stagione sembra lontano dalla condizione ottimale e dovr\u00e0 quindi cercare un&#8217;impresa per ribaltare la stagione e cercare di tornare sugli standard del 2020. Il francese, invece, ha ben figurato alla Freccia del Brabante e sembra in grado di poter essere davanti anche domani.<\/p>\n<p>Alla Amstel Gold Race, invece, \u00e8 stato tra i protagonisti anche\u00a0<strong>Maximilian Schachmann\u00a0<\/strong>(Bora-Hansgrohe), che ha chiuso sul podio e domani potr\u00e0 provare il suo stato di forma su un percorso ancora pi\u00f9 adatto alle sue caratteristiche. Anche\u00a0<strong>David Gaudu\u00a0<\/strong>(Groupama-FDJ) sicuramente si far\u00e0 trovare pronto sulla salita finale e prover\u00e0 a mettere un altro tassello per cominciare a scalzare Thibaut Pinot dalla posizione di uomo simbolo del team quando la strada sale.<\/p>\n<p>La salita \u00e8 poi anche terreno di caccia per i colombiani e per questo motivo due escarabajos dallo spunto veloce come\u00a0<strong>Sergio Higuita\u00a0<\/strong>(EF) e\u00a0<strong>Esteban Chaves\u00a0<\/strong>(BikeExchange) potrebbero essere protagonisti nel finale. Il secondo, per\u00f2, potrebbe ritrovarsi a condividere la leadership con\u00a0<strong>Michael Matthews<\/strong>, che per\u00f2 potrebbe trovare pi\u00f9 di qualche difficolt\u00e0 nella salita finale.<\/p>\n<p>Un discorso che pu\u00f2 essere esteso anche ad altri uomini dallo spunto veloce ma capaci di resistere in salita come\u00a0<strong>Alex Aranburu\u00a0<\/strong>(Astana-PremierTech),\u00a0<strong>Ivan<\/strong> <strong>Garcia Cortina\u00a0<\/strong>(Movistar) e\u00a0<strong>Ide Schelling\u00a0<\/strong>(Bora-Hansgrohe), che dovranno per\u00f2 trovare la giornata perfetta per inserirsi nella bagarre finale. Chi invece sulle pendenza finali sembra trovarsi a proprio agio \u00e8\u00a0<strong>Warren Barguil\u00a0<\/strong>(Ark\u00e9a-Samsic), quarto qui lo scorso anno e sempre pi\u00f9 a caccia di un ruolo da protagonista nelle Classiche.<\/p>\n<p>La Lotto Soudal invece avr\u00e0 due carte da giocarsi con\u00a0<strong>Tim Wellens<\/strong>, pi\u00f9 volte all&#8217;attacco nel finale della Amstel Gold Race, e\u00a0<strong>Philippe Gilbert<\/strong> che, dopo aver annunciato il ritiro alla fine del 2022, vorr\u00e0 tornare a concentrarsi sulla stagione in corso e a far parlare di s\u00e9 per le imprese in corsa, in una selezione dove la terza punta potrebbe essere l&#8217;italiano\u00a0<strong>Stefano Oldani<\/strong>.
