Rasmus Christian Quaade (BHS-Almeborg Bornholm) wins the 2018 Classic Loire Atlantique. The Dane hasn’t been winning since the success achieved at the Danish National time trial Championships four years ago and wins the first road race in his career. The Dane attacked with over one kilometer remaining and surprised the peloton, in whose front sitted the sprinters’ lead-outs and in particular Fortuneo-Samsic. The reaction of the bunch was weak and Quaade won solo the French one day race. Daniel Hoelgaard (Groupama-FDJ) finished in second, Armindo Fonseca (Fortuneo-Samsic) got on the third step of the podium and Damien Touzé (St-Michel-Auber 93) finished if fourth afead of Maxime Daniel (Fortuneo-Samsic).
